Coronavirus Response

UPDATE – Monday, 3/23/20: The FamilyWorks food banks in Wallingford and Greenwood remain open for our normal distribution hours. We are continuing to disinfect surfaces regularly, require social distancing in line, and pre-pack bags of food for safe distribution. The Family Resource Center and lobby to the Solid Ground building will remain closed until further notice. We will be distributing diapers, socks, and hygiene supplies during food bank hours. For all other questions or assistance accessing resources, email katherineb@familyworksseattle.org or call (206) 694-6727.

UPDATE – Tuesday, 3/17/20: The Family Resource Center, along with the lobby to the Solid Ground building, will be closed starting today through Friday, April 3rd. For questions regarding WIC appointments, please call (206) 477-8238. For all other questions or assistance accessing resources, email katherineb@familyworksseattle.org or call (206) 694-6727.

UPDATE – Monday, 3/16/20: We will continue running an express, outdoor, walk-up grocery distribution model at our Wallingford Food Bank. Saturday commodities distribution and Supermarket Saturday food drives are canceled. All playgroups and family programs have been canceled, but the Family Resource Center remains open for quick pickups of diapers and other resources. We will now be distributing two-week supplies of diapers, to reduce the frequency our participants have to visit the site.

UPDATE – Thursday, 3/12/20: To help keep you safe during this time of uncertainty, the food bank will be distributing pre-packed grocery bags outside of the rear doors of the building. Perishable items will be added to the bag depending on availability, including fresh produce, meat, dairy, and bread.

UPDATE – Wednesday, 3/11/20: One of the unforeseen consequences of the coronavirus has been a reduction in donations of fresh groceries and non-perishable food to our food banks. To learn more about how you can support our food banks, click here.

UPDATE – Monday, 3/9/20: Playgroups will be canceled this week, through Friday, 3/13/20. At this time, we continue to offer a choice of groceries through distribution at our food banks. In order to increase the safety of the food and to reduce food handling, only food bank staff and volunteers will be passing out the food, and with gloves on!

We are asking anyone who feels ill or has fever, cough, or other respiratory symptoms, not to enter the building. Here are guidelines for accessing food at our Wallingford Food Bank.
