UNC Wilmington suspends summer programs due to coronavirus

WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) — The University of North Carolina at Wilmington has suspended its summer programs scheduled to start in April because of the coronavirus outbreak, school officials announced Tuesday.

The summer programs that were scheduled to run through June 24, the school said in a statement. Athletic programs are the exception, and a decision regarding UNCW athletic summer programs will be announced by May 15, according to the school.

Currently, non-athletic summer programs scheduled to begin after June 24 are still expected to take place, officials said. Information about new student orientation will be sent directly to new students in the coming weeks, and that will be confirmed by May 15.

Details on refunds can be found on individual program websites, the school said.
