Colorado prospers when our kids thrive. Early childhood education is the foundation of our state, yet that base is missing a critical piece: state-wide, full-day kindergarten. We know from evidence based research that full-day kindergarten better prepares out children, improving their literacy skills, math and reading gains during the school year, and overall academic growth, and we know there are thousands of children across Colorado who are not able to access this essential piece of early education.

It’s clear that we need to take action now. We have the opportunity to fund all kindergartners across the state as full day attendees instead of funding all kindergartners as half day students and leaving the gap in funding up to parents and districts. Right now, we have the opportunity to push this forward, using money from Colorado's budget surplus to invest in the future of Colorado, our kids. But we can't do it without your help.

Attend our Full Day Kindergarten Advocacy Day!

Why: Bringing together new and emerging advocates for kids from across the state, this Advocacy day gives an insider view to the policy making process at the Colorado State Capitol—and how everyday people can make a difference.

Who: Join parents, Educators, service providers, and other community members to build advocacy skills and talk to lawmakers to ensure that Colorado fully funds Full Day Kindergarten this year!

The Full Day Kindergarten Advocacy day is an introduction to the practice of advocacy. We especially encourage first-time advocates to attend! If you have done policy advocacy in the past, please consider recruiting a friend to register as well.
