Community Public Health Innovation
Thank you for your interest in our community public health innovation night! The purpose of this event is to have students and community members learn together about a community-wide public health challenge and work collaboratively to think of solutions and learn of funding opportunities. This is a blind process and our team will be evaluating each application closely.
We are excited to have you submit a public health challenge case statement that will serve as the theme for our event!
Here is an example (adapted from the CDC):
Starting in 1989, Congress designated a specific portion of each state’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) budget allocation to be used for the promotion and support of breastfeeding among WIC participants.
More than five years after the government started supporting promotional efforts, breastfeeding rates among WIC participants were considerably lower than for women of higher socioeconomic levels.
What innovative solutions can you think of to promote breastfeeding among WIC participants?
Please submit your challenge statement along with your contact information below.
