This program will explore the relevance of human rights norms in efforts to advance racial justice & address historical and ongoing racism, discrimination and intolerance. Speakers will examine strategies to shape effective remedies and redress, including reparations & restorative justice, drawing from international, national, and local examples.

VIRTUAL PROGRAM VIA ZOOM
• 9:30 a.m. – 10:10 a.m. – Opening & Keynote Remarks
• 10:20 a.m. – 11:35 a.m. – Session I: Foundational Concepts of Remedies and Reparations for Racial Injustice from Global and National Practice
• 11:45 am. – 1:00 p.m – Session II: Restorative Justice in practice: Pathways to Racial Justice at the Local Level

REGISTRATION: Online registration will close for all transactions, including refunds, at 5 pm on Monday, April 27, 2020. Confirmed reservations are non-transferrable.

Registered participants will receive an email with instructions on how to join and will receive program materials.

Registration Rates: For Public Interest/Nonprofit/Academia/Government: $0; For Professional/Private Practice: $300*;

The CLE is free for attorneys and persons who are serving in public interest organizations (including government, academic, and non- and not-for-profit organizations) or those who are experiencing financial hardship.
• Individuals in Professional/Private Practice who are seeking a hardship scholarship should register using the online form and then separately complete their registration by submitting a scholarship request, no later than April 27, 2020, to HRI ([email protected]). Requests, which will be answered, should detail in a few sentences the basis of the applicant's need and the background to his or her interest. Please understand that without a complete scholarship request, the applicant may be notified that the scholarship registration has been canceled.
• HRI will follow-up with other private practice attorneys regarding payment.

INFORMATION REGARDING NY CLE CREDITS: Columbia Law School has been certified by the New York State Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Board as an Accredited Provider of CLE programs. Under New York State CLE regulations, this live simultaneous transmission non-transitional CLE Program will provide 3.0 credit hours that can be applied toward the Areas of Professional Practice Requirement. This CLE credit is awarded only to New York attorneys for full attendance of the Program in its entirety. Attorneys attending only part of the program are not eligible for partial credit. Attendance is determined by an attorney's submission of their attendance verification with appropriate course codes noted. On submission of the attendance verification, attorneys should also submit their completed Evaluation Form, provided at the Conference. Please note the NYS Certificates of Attendance will be sent to the email address as it appears in the register unless otherwise noted there.
