Corporate and Transactional Research: This session will focus on secondary sources that are useful for the practicing attorney with emphasis on locating forms, checklists, and model documents.

Dockets and Court Documents Research: In this session, we will explore methods for finding dockets, filings, and transcripts for federal and state court cases.

Empirical Legal Research: This session is a practical introduction to data and statistics and will provide an overview of how to efficiently search for data and statistics available through both open and Yale-licensed resources.

Finding Laws of Foreign Jurisdictions: Attendees will gain an introductory understanding of legal systems of the world, role of cases in other than common law jurisdictions, finding laws of foreign jurisdiction with focus on the basic strategies and basic resources to start with. Attendees will work through couple of problems to demonstrate the approaches and resources.

Statutory Research: In this session, we’ll review how statutory law is promulgated and published. Working through a research problem, we’ll examine strategies for locating statutes (using advanced search techniques and finding tools) as well as relevant secondary authority and interpretive case law.

Regulatory Research: In this session, we’ll review how regulations are promulgated and published. Working through an administrative law problem, we’ll explore finding guidance documents, regulations, and pending regulatory activity materials, including comments.
