Opening Keynoter: Spencer Christian, who may be most prominently remembered as co-anchor for Good Morning America, began his career in 1971. He has been a news reporter, sportscaster, talk show host and author. His assignments and travels have taken him to five continents, all 50 states and has allowed him to interview six presidents, and the most prominent figures in sports, world affairs, and the arts. Spencer has also won his 30- year battle against Gambling Disorder. He uses his experiences to increase awareness and minimize the stigma associated with Gambling Disorder. Workshop #1: Kelly Kondrat is an independent consultant for KWB Strategies and holds her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Central Michigan University. Kelly is a result driven consultant and editor for various coalition strategic plans, needs assessments and evaluations. She is a dedicated educator experienced in creating and fostering learning environments where students increase their confidence and expand their knowledge base. Kori White-Bissot is an independent consultant for KWB Strategies and holds her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Grand Valley State University. As a consultant, she supports organizations and coalitions in better achieving their mission. Kori’s experience includes developing strategic plans serving as an evaluator for community coalitions efforts and directing prevention efforts to ensure a comprehensive system of services in collaboration with substance abuse treatment, prevention, and other community agencies. Workshop #2 Justin Rolin is the Gambling Disorder Prevention Specialist (GDPS) for Southwest Michigan Behavioral Health. Justin is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) by the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP). He has a Bachelor of Social Work from Spring Arbor University, where he is currently completing his Master of Social Work. As the first GDPS in his region, Justin is responsible for coordinating with local coalitions/task forces to raise community awareness about problem gambling, expanding capacity of regional services to treat Gambling Disorder, and creating sustainable prevention efforts. He is a member of the Michigan Association of Problem Gambling and the National Council on Problem Gambling. Workshop #3 Ashley Trantham is the Responsible Gambling Account Executive for Morneau Shepell. She holds her Master of Science degree in Organizational Communication from North Carolina State University; and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Sweet Briar College. She has managed a statewide problem gambling prevention program for several years in the state of North Carolina and has trained hundreds of educations and counselors on the Stacked Deck Evidence-based problem gambling prevention curriculum. Workshop #4 Lori Mello is the Program Manager for the Michigan Problem Gambling Help-line/Treatment Services Program. She has a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Master’s in Public Administration from Oakland University and a Bachelor of Social Work from San Diego State University. Lori also teaches human services, psychology, sociology and Public Administration courses at the university level. Mike Mooney is a panel provider for the Michigan problem gambling treatment program and is the CEO of Choices Counseling Center. Mike’s recovery from Substance and Gambling Use Disorders has resulted in his personal and professional passion to provide outpatient Gambling Disorder treatment services to the criminal/offender population. Steven Hollier is a help-line counselor for the Michigan Problem Gambling Help-line and has a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from the University of Phoenix. Steven uses his 11 years of recovery from gambling to help others overcome this challenging addiction. Tiffany Martin was the “My Story” presenter during the 11th annual Gambling Disorder symposium. She is a loving mother and wife who accredits her five-year recovery from gambling to Gamblers Anonymous. She has established, and facilitates, the only weekly Gamblers Anonymous meeting available in Belleville MI; which she believes continues to make a difference in her life and the lives of others. Mariam Ismail is a Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) by MCBAP; and serves as the Substance Abuse & Gambling Prevention Program Manager at LAHC. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of MI, a Master of Science in Health Service Administration from Central MI and has taken doctoral level classes in leadership and healthcare organization. Her bilingual and culturally sensitive approach makes her a trusted professional in the community she serves. Workshop #6 Gwendolyn Bammel is a Licensed Master Social Worker and the Clinical Supervisor of Ascension Eastwood Recovery in Southfield, MI. As a person in long-term recovery, she has dedicated her career to helping others find their path to wholeness. Over the past 20 years, Gwendolyn has worked in varying levels of care including Residential, Outpatient (OP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP).

Cancellation Policy: If you do not cancel and do not attend, you are still responsible for the full registration fee. Substitutions are permitted at any time. Cancellations must be received in writing to cward@cmham.org at least 10 business days prior to the conference for a full refund less a $15 administrative fee. If cancellation is received less than 10 business days prior to the training, no refund will be given.
