Actor Justin Theroux’s Greenwich Village co-op neighbor had to fork over $23,000 Wednesday for sending an allegedly hostile email to the co-op board’s president.
“A court order is not enough to restrain Mr. [Norman] Resnicow’s clearly untethered conduct,” Theroux’s lawyer, Eric Sherman, said of his client’s downstairs neighbor.
Theroux is suing Resnicow, 71, claiming Resnicow harassed him and ex-wife Jennifer Aniston because they didn’t immediately install soundproofing during $1 million renovations of their unit.
Sherman claimed Resnicow’s threatening email violated a temporary restraining order that bars Resnicow from contact with board members and “The Leftovers” star.
Resnicow’s lawyer, Peter Levine, said his client “has become the victim of a vindictive mob.”
Resnicow agreed to pay Theroux $20,000 and the board another $3,000 for legal fees that resulted from Resnicow violating the restraining order.
Theroux — who split from Aniston last year — also claimed Resnicow trespassed on his property, peeped in his windows, harassed his workers and killed the ivy that grew between their shared roof deck.
