Closed petition Provide emergency funding to The Arts Council so that they can extend support

I am concerned that, with the closure of all venues, performing arts organisations will be forced to close and will be unable, despite the general reliefs available, to recommence their performances in the future. This particularly affects peripatetic organisations such as English Touring Opera

More details

The psychological impact of Covid 19 will be enormous and the benefits of watching a performance will be important at Royal Albert Hall or on the High Street. Also these organisations have significant participative programmes getting people together to have fun. Whilst this is not the Government's priority today, preserving these organisations now means they will step forward when we get beyond the virus. The country was torn apart by Brexit and now the virus and this will be part of healing
