Chicago Santa Hustle Announces New Partnership with Pediatric Cancer Foundation

September is Child Cancer Awareness Month, and the Santa Hustle Race Series, LLC is proud to announce a new partnership with the Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Cancer is currently the leading cause of death for children under the age of 15 in the United States. This topic hits close to home for The Santa Hustle Race Series, LLC, since the children of two of their employees have children who are fighting the disease or are in remission.

"Last year, more than 15,000 children were diagnosed with cancer," said the Santa Hustle Race Series founder, Aaron Del Mar, "We are determined to put our gloves in the ring and do our part to help fund the fight against this disease, especially since it hits so close to home for us."

The Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation is a not-for-profit that focuses on brightening the lives of children with cancer by granting them mini wishes through their Bear Hug Program. The foundation's Bear Discovery program donates funds to the foundation in hopes of finding a cure, and to provide new therapies for various types of pediatric cancer.

The Santa Hustle is a family-friendly event that creates an exciting environment for participants and spectators of all ages, while embracing the reason for the season! This year's 5k participants will receive a Santa hat, beard and a performance hoodie to wear while running, a finisher medal, and new for 2018-the option to add on the Mrs. Claus package, which includes a red tutu, arm warmers, candy cane socks and two face tattoos. Cookie and candy stations, along with holiday music and cheer, will abound along the course. The race begins at 8:30 a.m. with the Rudolph Run for children.

Santa Hustle prides itself on making a difference in the lives of others. In addition to donating race proceeds to The Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, the event is also an official drop-off spot for unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots program.
