Doctors for Healthy Communities (DHC) volunteers welcomed spring by supporting the families at Camp Taylor Elementary school of Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville. Non-perishable food supplies were delivered for the school's food pantry on March 26, 2024, just before spring break.According to the Greater Louisville project, 16.1% of Louisville residents experience food insecurity. This makes us fifth in the nation. Additionally, Louisville ranks second in the rate of children who live in a household experiencing food insecurity. The USDA defines food insecurity as lacking enough food for an active, healthy lifestyle for all members of the household.DHC is proud & humbled to support our schools in Kentucky and southern Indiana.
