Bryce Masters is an idiot.

The first time I crawled into his bed he was frustratingly charming, hot as hell and sinfully smug. The second time I saw him, he was running around the field dripping wet in his short shorts.

Then he stuffed up. Over and over and over again. And like the sucker I am, I kept giving him chances. I knew he was a player, the whole world did but I couldn’t stop myself from climbing back into his lap… or bed.

Maybe he wasn’t the idiot. Maybe I was.

Rebecca is a clumsy, introverted, bubble bath loving, chocoholic who'd rather read a book than go shopping. And don't even mention shoe shopping!

Rebecca is a lucky girl - one of four kids to school teacher parents. Wife to a football obsessed husband. Aunt to the most crazy/adorable little girls. And sister to two very determined sisters and one easy going brother.

Rebecca lives in Canberra Australia and spends way too many hours a day working the day job.

She is a book whore who can easily (and happily) read a book from start to finish in one sitting and spends her spare time writing.

4 Stars!

This series marks my first read by Rebecca Barber and I was pretty impressed for the most part. I'm a sucker for a good sports romance, alpha bad boys, and fiery heroines and this book fit the bill and some. Excited to move on the the next.

I recommend this book.

Played - Playing Games Book 2 - Rebecca Barber
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you are after a sports romance with a bit of Aussie flair, you can’t go past Rebecca Barber’s latest story in her new Playing Games Series - Played.

Bryce Master, who we’ve met in Marked, is just a larrikin guy, one of the team but always with a smart comeback for his best mate Logan and his whip smart journalist fiancée Tash.
But when it comes to Emma, Bryce just falls from one stumbling idiotic mistake to the next.

Emma’s big weekend away with her girlfriends was going to be amazing, until her flight was delayed, then the airline lost her bag..... what else could go wrong? ....... well for Emma, this story has many more twists and turns and they all include Bryce The Idiot Masters.

A story full of hot guys, sassy ladies and enough references to guys in short shorts to leave you breathless, Played will have you captive from page one.

Another great story with wonderfully quirky Australian characters. Rebecca Barber continues to deliver her best in this wonderfully light hearted but sinfully sexy story.

Can’t wait for more from these guys.

This was another solid offering from this series! Bryce is a player in every sense of the word. He only wants one thing until he meets Emma. Emma was supposed to be having a girls' weekend when nothing went right. She lets off steam with Bryce. He decides he wants more but keeps messing up with Emma. She keeps forgiving him, but how many times is too many? Sometimes I really wanted to "talk" some sense into him! I really enjoyed reading their journey to happiness! I am eagerly waiting for the next book!

Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done ❤️

I've never been a fan of football, but this series has changed my mind BIG TIME.
It's no secret that I'm a huge supporter of Rebecca Barbers work, but this series is hands down my favourite of hers (sorry Ryan McIntyre)
These men are EVERYTHING
They have the bodies of a God, talent, looks and when they go after what they want nothing will stop them from getting it.
If you are a fan of sports romance, or even if you're not you need these men in your life.

A sexy and witty read that leaves you wanting more. Bryce and Emma are perfect together. Bryce makes one mistake after another while Emma is insecure. However, this book is beautifully written with great secondary characters, a strong entertaining story line, and all the feels you can handle.

Bryce the insensitive player and Emma the awkward hopeless romantic....
I was looking forward to getting back to these AFL players and I enjoyed Bryce and Emma’s story.
I really felt for Emma, much more at home in her outdoor garden settings with her plants, than actually interacting socially. When faced with the force that is Bryce... all six foot four of muscle she really becomes a shrinking violet and can’t get her words out. Convinced she doesn’t belong in his world she tries to play off the attraction she has for him and act as if she doesn’t care.
Bryce is a typical jock, totally insensitive to Emma’s insecurities and in need of a few home truths... which he gets eventually!!😊
In some places I felt the story lost its way a little bit and I was wondering how things actually fitted together... but all in all a decent read with some fun dialogue and characters.

Played was a brilliant read, I loved every minute of it. Their meet cute was awesome and their journey to love was up and down, but perfect for them.
I was intrigued by Bryce in Marked and I’m so glad Rebecca have the love able larrikin a story. My fave was the nursing home scene, that was classic.
I flove how awkward Emma is. It’s refreshing to see a not-so-perfect heroine, I can see a lot of myself in her awkwardness.
Maddey <—-yep, I’m calling her that, is a bitch...I do want her story though HINT HINT Rebecca
I love this new series from Rebecca, I can’t wait for more...even HER story...if you do it

This is the 2nd book in this amazing series and is Bryce and Emma’s story. Emma had a great weekend planned away with her girlfriends until everything that could goes wrong, between flight being delayed and her luggage is lost by the airline. Bryce is a sexy playboy and when he and Emma connect, he seems to turn into a bumbling idiot. This is a well written story which is filled with witty banter and is an all-round entertaining and steamy read. I look forward to reading more in this fascinating series and recommend for all.

Bryce was an idiot, but he gleefully earned that title, but a totally irresistible and sweet idiot.
Book 2 was a jet setting companion to the first of the series, following Logan and Tash's story, so now I cant wait for the next in the series.
I've swooned over the fact that this is an AFL romance series and I cant love it hard enough.

Bryce was running late getting to the restaurant and the crowded alleyway wasn't getting him there any faster. The food may be good but it was too crowded and way too noisy even before hearing the bloody screams of a baby, his mood improved when he sees her in a booth in the back.

He kisses her on the cheek being unable to stop from pulling Logan's chain as he greets his girlfriend Tash asking if she was ready to trade up. Logan just growled at him. He missed them since he had been traded to Adelaide.

After dirty dancing with Tash at Utopia, Logan threw her over his shoulder and left the dance floor and Bryce realized he wanted what Logan had...someone that was there for him and had your back...someone to bicker and fight with...and then has amazing makeup sex with.

Emma was so over her rotten day and the woman in front of her was on her last nerve. She had just landed after plane delays and now the baggage claim is closed for the night. Her luggage was somewhere between Sydney and Melbourne and she wasn't getting it anytime soon.

She was meeting her best friends Vanessa, Sienna and Jessie for a weekend of fun and they were calling wondering why she hadn't met them at the club yet. She had been so looking forward to their annual weekend getaway full of shopping, cocktails, brunches, gossiping...and more cocktails, but now she only wanted a hot shower and a bed.

After dealing with the obnoxious woman at the hotel front desk she is finally in her room and heading for the much needed shower. Only when she climbs naked into bed she finds it is already occupied with the hottest guy she has ever laid eyes on. The snarly receptionist had given her the wrong room key.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Although this is a standalone novel and has it's own HEA, I highly recommend you start with book one in the series as the characters are recurring and have a major part in Bryce and Emma's story.

Emma is a horticulturist and Bryce is a football player that wasn't looking for a relationship, but they couldn't get the other out of their mind after she had landed naked in his bed. I loved the tug and pull of Emma and Bryce's relationship. Neither wanted a relationship, but both were upset when they felt they were being ignored or ghosted. But, when they were in the same city boy did the sexual chemistry fly.

Don't be eating or drinking when you meet Bryce's parents lol. They are hilarious! This book is action-packed, full of angst, great friendships and steamy hot from page one and you won't be able to put it down. Highly recommend this book and series and look forward to reading more books by Rebecca Barber in the future!

Review:

Story: This book is book two in a series. They can all be read as standalone. The first book was called Marked. It was Logan and Tasha's story. This book covers Bryce and Emma. I really enjoyed this book. I think I actually enjoyed it more than I did Marked. But I really loved Bryce in book one. He just has such a cheeky personality. He's loyal as all can be, but he's going to make you work for that loyalty. He's also going to drive you nuts too.

Characters: I've already gushed enough about Bryce. So I'll spend a few minutes talking about other characters now. I really liked Emma. She was so feisty. She wasn't about to let Bryce get to her at all. For the most part anyway. I loved meeting Bryce's family. I'd have loved to see more of them in the book!

Critiques: This isn't as much as a critique as much as it is a suggestion or request. I'd of loved to see Bryce complaining to the management about the hotel girl's attitude and mistake of double booking his room. It kind of would have been even funnier if said manager was the one she was busy with.

Final Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book very much. I loved Bryce in the first book and kept thinking about how I wanted to read more about him. So naturally I got very excited when I found out he was the male lead of this one! Hunter is the next one. I'm looking forward to reading about his little fling with Sienna. To be honest, she's totally the reason I'm excited for that one! She could become a potential book girlfriend. We will see!

Read, write, and grow every day!

This is the second book I read by Rebecca Barber, and I am happy I gave her another chance. I feel like she got into better sync with these characters than she did with Logan and Tash from book 1. Emma and Bryce were great together, although, Bryce was a true "arsehole" and it took me a while before I really started to like him. Emma's character was great, and while she had her fears and insecurities, Bryce did nothing to alleviate any of those for her. I really felt like for a long time, she was the one who carried their relationship, and she was the one who pushed him. But he didn't really do the same courtesy for her. The book overall was good, and I think the cast of supporting characters were a big part of why this book worked for me, because if there was more Bryce I don't think I would have liked it as much. I am so glad that Bryce pulled his head out of his ass and realized just what he was missing, but he still made HUGE missteps along the way. But once he made his finally choice to grow up, and nab this important moment, it was worth it.

I recieved an ARC of this book in exchange for an unbiased opinion.

Played by Rebecca Barber

This is the second book in the series and if you haven’t read this one or the first one what have you been doing? Sure you won’t feel lost if you don’t read them all and simply read this one but you will definitely be missing out. This is Bryce and Emma’s story and it is a good one. They hook up and Bruce is completely taken back by the fact that Emma is the one to be gone in the morning. I loved the fact that it’s Bryce the one who is a fumbling idiot around Emma. Usually it’s the female who gets written that role in books so it was refreshing. Loved the banter and wittiness of it all. It’s a book I enjoyed and would gladly recommend. Looking forward to the next one I’m really enjoying this series and this author.

Both want more but they have a failure to communicate.

Rebecca Barber knows how to write a book, and Played was absolutely amazing. Sports romance and alpha bad boys, ummmm yes please!!! I loved Bryce and Emma together. Bryce had to work a little to get my approval, but he did succeed. I just felt he wasn't as supportive of Emma as she was of him, or that he wasn't as dedicated to them as she was. But he got there and I loved it. The relationship is fast paced filled with some sarcastic fun. This was a very good book. It would definitely recommend it.

Bryce Masters is a player, so when Emma climbs into his bed he doesn't know how to handle it when she leaves. This book is hilarious, Emma is super relatable and Bryce is the book boyfriend we all want but curse at for being dumb.
While this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone.
I received an ARC, and this is my honest review.

This second book in this series is a captivating sports romance that has Bryce living up to his player title. He and Emma have chemistry but when Bryce decides he wants more, this player might just have to up his game tactics. There was plenty of entertaining moments, witty banter and heat and steam. A thoroughly enjoyable storyline that has you eager for the next book.

Bryce is a player there’s no denying that, but meeting up with Logan and Tash he sees what they have and realises that that’s what he wants.
Emma was going for a simple weekend away with the girls, and that’s when everything started going wrong. That’s when the problem with Bryce started.
Emma is very insecure and doesn’t think that she can fit in Bryce’s world. With Bryce being oblivious to the insecurities Emma has he makes mistake after mistake.
Can Bryce realise what he’s doing before Emma decides that she can’t forgive him yet another time.
