Compiled by Cheryl Whitaker StarNews Staff
In August, Robert “Bob” Millar of Wilmington was given a special award for his service to the Freemason’s Grand Lodge of North Carolina. On Aug. 29, Dwight “Mack” Sigmon, the Grand Master of Masons in the state, surprised Millar in his home for being a Mason for 70 years. Only 13 members have reached this milestone this year, out of 35,000 in the state. Millar, who is 95 years old, is also a decorated fighter pilot who served in the Pacific Campaign during World War II in the Army Air Corps. [CONTRIBUTED PHOTO]
