Since fall semester is rapidly approaching, Paul D. Camp Community College wants to stress that although classes may be different, the college is open for business.

“We are in a unique position to help students like never before,” said Camp President Dr. Dan Lufkin. “Many parents and students are concerned about the ever-changing situation that the pandemic has presented and want to remain close to home. So, Camp will be a better option for them this fall.”

At Camp, fall will continue with traditional asynchronous online courses, including dual enrollment courses. In addition, most of the currently scheduled face-to-face classes will become synchronous hybrid courses.

“Our goal is to offer all we can in online and hybrid settings, and offer the hands-on courses in a responsible way that prioritizes the health and safety of our community,” said Vice President of Academic and Student Development Dr. Tara Atkins-Brady.
All other classes will be synchronous-hybrid classes with virtual meetings through Zoom technology on regularly scheduled days and times. Limited on-campus meetings may be designated by the instructor.

“Faculty and staff are welcome to return to campus as needed or desired, including for the purpose of teaching in-person,” added Lufkin. “However, it is important to notify your supervisor prior to coming on campus and have that visit approved by the Office of Public Safety.”

If an instructor will be teaching in person, a list of students must be provided in advance. All faculty, staff and students will be required to sign in for each visit, and all must sign a form signifying that all rules for our reopening plan are understood and agreed to. All events that would bring groups of students, employees, or community members to campus must be approved by administration and coordinated by the appropriate supervisor with the Office of Public Safety to ensure that protocols are in place prior to the event.

“It is our sincere hope that things return to normal as soon as possible, not just for the good of the college, but for the benefit of our entire community,” said Lufkin. “Until that time, Camp Community College remains poised to serve our students and the community by providing a high-quality college education at an affordable price.”
