The opportunity
The Research Fellow (Post-doc) will conduct research on populism and/or political parties in conjunction with Professor Duncan McDonnell at the Centre for Governance and Public Policy. While the position is open to all candidates working on populism and political parties, we are particularly interested in candidates working on cases of populism in Latin America or India.

This is a fixed term (two years), full time position based at the Nathan campus.

About you
Applicants must have completed or expect to complete prior to commencing the Research Fellow role, a doctorate in Political Science or a closely-related subject. The ideal candidate will have good qualitative and quantitative research skills. In addition, the successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision to meet competing deadlines, and work effectively as a team member. Relevant language abilities (Spanish, Portuguese or Hindi, according to country specialisation) are especially welcome. Ideally, the successful candidate will take up the position on 1 September 2019.

Salary range
Research Fellow, Grade 1: $73,791 - $86,579 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $86,336 - $101,299 per annum.
