Arlington Conservation Council Scholarship

The Arlington Conservation Council (ACC) is a 501c3 organization whose mission is: “ACC works to protect Arlington's natural environment through education, community service, and advocacy for a sustainable future”. ACC is interested in working with UT Arlington (UTA) to establish an endowment to fund research activities and programs that improve the environment and sustainability of Arlington and surrounding area.

inSTEM

inSTEM is an auxiliary support network of and for STEM students at UTA funded by the National Science and Technology Medals Foundation (NSTMF). The NSTMF’s mission is to build inclusive and equitable STEM communities across the country. inSTEM is the Foundation’s newest program designed to inspire the next generation of great scientists and technologists by creating connections and developing skills that help students overcome barriers to success.

Louis Stokes Alliance For Minority Participation (LSAMP)

Since 1993, the University of Texas System Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) has sought to increase the number of underrepresented minority students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers. The LSAMP programs include the Summer Research Academy (SRA), the Summer Research Academy Abroad (SRA Abroad), UTAs SCUBA (LSAMP supplement), and the Bridge to Doctorate (BD) program. McNair Scholars

The McNair Scholars Program prepares qualified UT Arlington undergraduates for graduate study culminating in the Ph.D. The program offers a variety of benefits to facilitate the admission and funding of McNair Scholars in graduate school and to assist in their transition to graduate-level studies.The McNair Scholars Program strives to provide opportunities to disadvantaged undergraduates that will assist them to reach their full academic and professional potential. This federal initiative has many benefits for those undergraduates whose academic and professional goals match the objectives of the program.

Undergraduate Research Assistant Program (UGRAP)

UGRAP allows students to use their federal work-study to work on a research project under the guidance and mentorship of a UTA faculty member. The goal of this initiative is to expand opportunities for students to be introduced to the concept of scholarship and to learn research or scholarly methods in their field. This part-time employment opportunity will allow students to develop valuable skills that will directly enhance their education and benefit them in career planning. OUR recruits for UGRAP every semester for the following semester.

• Full-Time UTA Undergraduate Student
  •  Summer: Courses Optional
• 2.75 CGPA
• U.S. Citizen/Permanent Resident
• Awarded Work-Study (or eligible for work-study)

Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP)

UROP facilitates undergraduate participation in faculty-mentored research or creative projects. Funding is awarded to students for a semester while they assume apprenticeship with a faculty mentor’s research group or conducts independent research under the guidance of a faculty member. OUR recruits for UROP every semester for the following semester.
