PROgRESS Training Program


Program Overview

The Vanderbilt Patient/ pRactice Outcomes Research in Effectiveness and Systems Science (PROgRESS) T32 Program is supported by Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). This mentored research training program is dedicated to cross training early researchers in core disciplines who are capable of addressing major gaps in knowledge and translating knowledge into application. Trainees will receive up to 3 years of individualized training and will devote 40 hours per week of professional effort toward developing an academic career with interdisciplinary training and concentration in one of three core methodologic areas:

1. Patient Centered Outcomes Research

2. Implementation Science

3. Health Policy/Community Health

Eligibility
  • MD or PhD in disciplines relevant to learning health care system framework (e.g., health economics, policy, nursing, psychology, social work, epidemiology, bioinformatics etc.) 
  • Must be able to devote 40 hours per week of full-time effort to research and career development
  • US citizen or non-citizen national, or have been admitted for permanent residence
  • Trainees must focus their research development and projects on health care delivery in the United States
Application Process

Applications are due January 16 for a July 1 start. However, we often have spots open up throughout the year, and we welcome applications and appointments on a rolling basis.
